Children’s Liturgy of the Word is celebrated year-round during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday Mass.
All children are invited before the first reading to come forward for a blessing. The celebrant then dismisses them with their catechists for Children’s Liturgy of the Word. Children will return to their parents during the Preparation of the Gifts. All children are welcome to participate.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word is designed so that children can better understand the Sunday Gospel reading, following the same structure of the Liturgy of the Word. Children are invited to be active participants, and a coordinating coloring page is provided to help children visualize the Gospel message.
Want to help children grow in their faith?
Adults and parents are invited to be a catechist for this important ministry. Training is provided for those who are new to the ministry. Please contact Heidi Witte @ hwitte@hcpsb.org to join us in helping our children learn our faith!
