Sacristans
The sacristan is the individual who assists the priest in setting up for Mass and then putting things away afterward. Specific duties would involve maintaining the holy water fonts in the church, preparing and then cleaning the sacred vessels; putting out the books used by the priest and lectors; lighting the altar candles; and being present in the sacristy before and after Mass to assist the priest presiding at that particular Mass in any way he would need help. Those who attend weekday mass in the parish center can do the same in the Mary Chapel.
