The Sacrament of Confirmation
In the Sacrament of Confirmation, God confirms each candidate as a beloved son or daughter, baptized into a common priesthood with the power to profess faith in Christ publicly. The candidate receives the laying on of hands and anointing with sacred chrism that completes the grace of Baptism. Candidates confirm their baptismal promises, affirming with an “I do” their belonging to the Church. The gift of this sacrament, given only once, imprints on the soul an indelible spiritual mark, which signifies that Jesus Christ has marked a Christian with the seal of his Spirit by clothing the Christian with power from on high.
Confirmation Candidates – Fall 2025
Students preparing for their Confirmation for Fall of 2025 will soon be able to access the Parent and Candidate Handbook, which will include all assignments and important information.
If you are interested in having your child begin preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation, which begins each Fall for children enrolled in 7th Grade and up, please contact Heidi Witte at hwitte@hcpsb.org or (574) 233-2179 x115. Registration opens in August of each year.
