Children’s Catechesis

Catechesis/Sacramental Prep will begin in late September and go through May.

Holy Cross offers the following:

  • Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (Level I for ages 3-6 and Level II for ages 6-9*)
  • Traditional Catechesis (Textbook Method for 4th-6th graders**)
  • First Reconciliation/First Communion Preparation (for Baptized children ages 7 and up)
  • Confirmation Preparation (for children ages 13 and up who are baptized and have made their First Reconciliation and First Communion)
  • Order of Christian Initiation for Adults Adapted for Children (Sacramental Preparation for children over the age of 7 who have not been baptized or who have been baptized in another religious denomination).

*Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Level II will be offered if a CGS Level II catechist can be found. **Traditional Catechesis will be offered for children in 1st-3rd Grade if a CGS Level II catechist cannot be found
