La Virgen de Guadalupe, also known as Our Lady of Guadalupe, is the patron Saint of Mexico and the Patroness of the Americas as declared in 1999 by Pope John Paul II. She is a symbol of unity in diversity and loving maternal concern. Her feast day of December 12th commemorates her apparition to Saint Juan Diego in the hills of Tepeyac in 1531. The Virgin of Guadalupe bears the love of Christ to all peoples, uniting diversity of culture, language and politics.
Our Lady of Guadalupe Women’s Group at Holy Cross Parish seeks to welcome and unify all women in the parish in a sisterhood of service, support, and social connection rooted in a love for God. We hope to provide fun and meaningful opportunities for women in the parish and school community throughout the year.
There are plenty of ways to be involved. If you can’t attend a service event or social gathering, it’s ok! We will send out various meal trains or ways that you can help our parishioners and community right from home. We want all the women in our parish to feel like they can be a part of the group in some way (including praying!).
